
HCL Foundation partnered with Sportz Village Foundation to identify and train talented children from HCL Foundation schools for the Sports for Social Change Meet 2018.
The programme followed a structured pathway that began with fitness assessments, moved into sports trials and coaching, and helped create cluster and zonal teams for young athletes.
The first stage focused on identifying children with sporting potential.
Fitness assessments were conducted for 1,593 children who had been shortlisted by their schools.
Following the fitness assessments, 781 children were selected for trials.
Children who progressed through the trials moved into a structured coaching programme.
A 40-day coaching programme was conducted for 520 children who were shortlisted after the trials.

The programme helped form cluster teams for Noida and Lucknow, along with a zonal team.
The young athletes delivered strong outcomes at the Sports for Social Change Meet.
The programme participants won a total of 24 medals in 2018.
